Very Veggie Salsa

By GO! Foods for You

Compared with people who skimp on fruits and vegetables, those who eat generous portions of them are less likely to develop chronic diseases including stroke, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers. Try this delicious and nutritious recipe direct from the GO! Foods for You test kitchen.

Our team says “muy bien” (very good) about this salsa! Salsa is an excellent way to up your veggie intake with fabulous flavor and fantastic phytonutrients! Tomatoes are a terrific source of vitamins C and A, powerful antioxidants that help reduce free radicals, which can lead to heart disease and other inflammatory conditions such as diabetes, asthma and colon cancer. This salsa has some less common ingredients — zucchini and squash — for added vitamin C and potassium, which plays a role in maintaining healthy blood pressure.
