What are endocrine disorders?

The body’s endocrine system consists of a complex group of glands that produce hormones, which are what control many areas, such as reproduction, metabolism and growth and development. Hormones also control the way you respond to your surroundings and help provide the proper amount of energy and nutrition your body needs to function.

The endocrine system consists of the following glands: thyroid, parathryroid, pancreas, ovaries, testes, adrenal, pituitary and hypothalamus.

Individuals with health problems related to their glands see endocrinologists. to help regulate their hormones. Endocrinologists are physician who specialize health problem that affect glands. Endocrinologists can help restore the normal balance of hormones in the body’s system.
