We believe that whether you have just recently been diagnosed or have lived with diabetes for many years, ongoing education is essential to maintaining good health. The more you know about your diabetes, the more effective you will be in controlling it.
We offer educational opportunities for patients, family members or anyone interested in learning more about diabetes to help you live a healthier, happier life. The programs are designed to educate and teach effective self-management skills that put the patient in control.
Diabetes Matters®: Empowerment Group
You’re invited to join us on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, from 10 to 11 am at The Beck Center for the Arts, 17801 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood.
This empowerment group is led by educators from the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland, in collaboration with Lakewood Hospital Diabetes and Endocrine Center and Fairview Hospital Diabetes Education Center. The group is for people with diabetes or pre-diabetes. An important part of managing diabetes is to be able to share with others who are in a similar situation and learn from each other. Each month we will focus on a new topic of discussion, such as diabetes-friendly recipes, creative exercise demonstrations, and stress reduction techniques. Please join us on the journey to taking control of your diabetes and taking back your life! RSVP is not required, but helpful for planning. For more information, please call 216.591.0800.
