Behavioral Health - Inpatient
Millions of people suffer physically and mentally from a wide range of behavioral illnesses. Some signs include hopelessness, worthlessness, sleep disturbances, increased irritability, severe mood swings, thoughts of self-harm, increased confusion and paranoid behavior.
Lakewood Hospital offers integrated, comprehensive behavioral health services to patients of all ages. Our team of trained professionals includes case managers, nurses, physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and members of other special and support services, all of whom are dedicated to improving and maintaining the behavioral health and well-being of patients in the communities we serve. Using a multidisciplinary approach, along with individual and group therapies, we strive to return patients to productive, fulfilling lives.
The inpatient unit consists of general adult psychiatry beds and special geropsychiatric beds. The program includes one-on-one counseling, social skill enhancement, self-care and coping skill development. Recreational and occupational therapists are available on the unit as well as nutritional consults with dieticians. Family support meetings are available, and the caregivers will work to link you to the appropriate community resources for ongoing support.
Lakewood Hospital is committed to addressing the mental health needs of the community.
