Visitation Policies

Lakewood Hospital embraces a philosophy of open and flexible patient visitation that welcomes and encourages family/significant others involvement in patient care. As such, general patient visiting hours will be permitted 24 hours a day.

Individual patient preferences regarding the visitation of family/significant others and friends (hours and duration) will be honored at all times. In semi-private rooms, the visitation preferences and needs for comfort, rest and privacy of both patients will be considered and balanced.

The number of visitors per patient may be limited to two (2), based on patient request/preference, or in consideration of the other patient in the semi-private room. Visitors may be requested to step out of the room for brief periods so that the staff may provide care to the patient and/or roommate.

Children under the age of 12 may visit at the discretion of the nurse manager and must be supervised by an adult visitor at all times.

Family/Significant Other and Visitors are not permitted to eat or drink in the patient care areas.
