Information and Support for Caregivers and Family Members of the Elderly
Are you caring for an aging relative? If so, it can be a difficult time for you and your family. At this informative caregiver's series, you will learn more about the skills, knowledge and resources that are available to help you provide the care necessary while taking better care of yourself. Geriatric specialists from Lakewood Hospital's SeniorCare Assessment Center will share their experience and insight with you in a relaxed setting. Guests are welcome to attend any or all of the free information sessions.
Dates:
July 15 - Managing dementia and confusion
July 22 – Community resources for caregivers of the elderly
July 29 - Focus on caregiver's needs: Q&A

Location: Rocky River Senior Center, 21014 Hilliard Blvd., Rocky River

Natural Childbirth Options
Maureen Stein-Vavro, certified nurse midwife, will discuss personalized birth experience options such as natural childbirth, warm water immersion and the philosophy of nurse midwifery services.
Dates: Tuesdays, August 4, or September 1

Time: 7 – 9 p.m.

Location: Lakewood Hospital Community Health Center, 1450 Belle Avenue (across from hospital), third floor triangle room.

Parkinson's disease Update
Parkinson's disease is classified as a movement disorder that alters walking and talking as well as impairment of mental functioning. It usually affects people older than 50 but may be seen at younger ages. Ilia Itin, MD, Cleveland Clinic neurologist, will discuss diagnostic tools as well as treatment options and plans of care.
Where: Westlake Village, 28550 Westlake Village Road. (corner of Schwartz and Center Ridge Roads)
