April 2010: Lakewood Hospital recently installed three new generators to replace two generators, which had served the hospital’s power needs for more than 30 years. The old generators were at maximum capacity and needed to be upgraded. Acquiring these state-of-the-art generators and associated switchgear was a $3.1 million investment, driven by the hospital’s multi-year strategic plan, Vision for Tomorrow.
March 2010: The Rotary Club of Lakewood/Rocky River has awarded Lakewood Hospital a $5,000 grant in support of the hospital’s “Vision for Tomorrow” initiative. The award was presented to Jan Murphy, president of Fairview & Lakewood Hospitals, at the club’s weekly meeting March 22.
February 2010: Lakewood Hospital recently invested in the most advanced 3-D vascular imaging technology to better diagnose and treat patients suffering from a wide-range of peripheral vascular diseases. Acquiring this state-of-the-art equipment and establishing a new Endovascular Suite is a $2 million investment that is driven by the hospital’s multi-year strategic plan, Vision for Tomorrow.
December 2009: Lakewood Hospital has received a $1 million donation from The Harold C. Schott Foundation to expand and improve neurological and geriatric services focused on brain health.
November 2009: Lakewood Hospital opened its new Orthopaedic Unit, which features private patient rooms on Monday, November 16. The $3.2 million renovation project is part of the hospital’s multi-year strategic plan, Vision for Tomorrow.
June 2009: As part of Lakewood Hospital’s Vision for Tomorrow strategic plan, one of the key components to the plan is to grow and enhance SeniorCare Services. The NICHE program will compliment these services by providing the nurses with the necessary support and education they need to provide the aging population with sensitive and exemplary care.
June 2009: Construction of a $2.7 million Orthopaedic Unit is underway at Lakewood Hospital. The announcement was made during a wall-breaking ceremony on June 1 led by hospital administration and the physicians and nurses who provide care on the unit.
January 2009: Lakewood Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic hospital, unveiled a new multi-year strategic plan, Vision for Tomorrow, which will better meet the changing needs of its communities and position the hospital for future growth and long-term viability.
