Welcome to the Department of Nursing

Lakewood Hospital has been increasingly recognized for a wonderful nursing staff and we’d like more nurses, or those thinking about entering the field, to know more about Lakewood’s Department of Nursing and the vast array of opportunities at our organization.

We are proud to work everyday with such a dedicated, experienced, professional nursing staff. We enjoy a rich history and experience level in the organization with the average tenure of our nursing staff being 12 years. This level of expertise in an organization allows for sharing of best practices in nursing, spurring evidence-based research and continued professional growth.

We have a commitment to staff empowerment and autonomy through our Shared Governance Structure and strong nurse-physician partnerships.  Our philosophy is to support nursing autonomy and allow nurses to advocate for the patients they serve.

We are very excited about the future of Nursing at Lakewood Hospital as we continue to collaborate on innovative ways to truly make nursing a premier career choice at Lakewood Hospital. We urge you to come visit us to learn more about nursing and career growth opportunities on the West Side of Cleveland.
