The Excitement is Building at Lakewood Hospital!

Construction has started! This is the first of many patient floor areas that will transition to all private patient rooms as part of Lakewood Hospital’s multi-year, strategic plan Vision for Tomorrow.

The completed unit will be a wonderful enhancement to our services that will feature private, family centered patient rooms complimented with an expert team of physicians and nurses, and state-of-the-art equipment.  
 

Highlights of the Renovated Unit

 

The nurses station will include:

• Increased work area for physician and staff
• Wheelchair accessible nurses desk
• Increased number of computers

 

The patient room will include:

• ADA bathrooms that include a shower, toilet, sink
• Flat screen TV
• O2, suction, blood pressure hidden behind the wood panel
• Mill work contains storage for patient belongings, supplies, dirty linen
• Sinks in every room
• Sleeper chair for family who spend the night
• Increased adjustable lighting
• Wireless computer access

 

The family lounge will include:

We encourage patients' families and loved ones to participate in the healing process of the patient. Therefore, the unit will offer a comfortable space for the family to relax while the patient undergoes tests.

• Flat screen TV
• Coffee machine and nutrition center
• Seating for several groupings of people
• Wireless computer access
• Shower and linens for family member who spends the evening
